World primary Scottie Scheffler has undergone surgical procedure on a hand damage he sustained whereas cooking Christmas dinner.
The 28-year-old American has been compelled to withdraw from the primary event of the season, subsequent week’s The Sentry in Hawaii, after chopping his proper hand on damaged glass.
The PGA Tour mentioned: “World primary and 2024 FedEx Cup Champion Scottie Scheffler has withdrawn from the PGA Tour’s 2025 season-opening event, The Sentry, which can happen subsequent week, January 2-5 at The Plantation Course at Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii.”
Scheffler, who received seven PGA Tour titles final 12 months, hopes to be again in motion at The American Specific event on January 16,
WHAT WAS THE INJURY
His supervisor, Blake Smith, added: “On Christmas Day whereas making ready dinner, Scottie sustained a puncture wound to the palm of his proper hand from a damaged glass.
“Small glass fragments remained within the palm which required surgical procedure. He has been instructed that he needs to be again to 100 per cent in three to 4 weeks.
“Sadly, he must withdraw from The Sentry. His subsequent scheduled event is The American Specific.”
VIKTOR HOVLAND ALSO IN THE WARS
Scheffler just isn’t the one golfer to have suffered misfortune in latest days with Norway’s Viktor Hovland taking to his official Instagram account to publish an X-ray which appeared to point out his little toe pointing at an alarming angle.
The picture was accompanied by the message: “Mattress body 1-0 me.”
Responding to Hovland’s message, 2021 Open winner Collin Morikawa mentioned: “I’m wrapping myself in some bubble wrap on the way in which to Hawaii.”
