Group Canada drawn towards Germany in 2024 Davis Cup quarter-finals

[TORONTO, ON] September 19, 2024 – Group Canada has been drawn towards Germany within the quarter-
finals of the 2024 Davis Cup, the ITF confirmed on Thursday. The Ultimate 8 Knockout Stage will happen
in Malaga, Spain from November 19-24.

Canada, ranked No.3, final confronted Germany (No. 5) within the quarter-finals of their 2022 Davis Cup title-
successful marketing campaign. A singles victory for Felix Auger-Aliassime over Oscar Otte and Denis Shapovalov and
Vasek Pospisil’s doubles win towards Tim Puetz and Kevin Krawietz secured their passage into the semi-
finals.

Led by captain Frank Dancevic, the Canadian group that includes Auger-Aliassime, Shapovalov, Gabriel
Diallo, Alexis Galarneau and Pospisil sealed their place within the Ultimate 8 throughout final week’s Group Stage in
Manchester, UK. They received all three ties, towards Argentina, Finland and Nice Britain respectively, to high
Group D.

Three-time Davis Cup champions Germany, in the meantime, completed second in Group C with a 2-1 document
having misplaced to group winners america and beating Slovakia and Chile in Zhuhai, China.
The winner of the tie between Canada and Germany, set to happen between November 19-21, will
face both Spain or the Netherlands, who contest the opposite quarter-final within the backside half of the draw, in
the semi-finals.
