LUCENA CITY—The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) suspended on Monday, Dec. 30, the operations of small vessels within the northern a part of Quezon province as a result of tough sea situations.
The PCG in northern Quezon, in an advisory issued at 5:30 a.m., cited the 5 a.m. forecast by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Companies Administration (Pagasa) on the prevailing “robust to gale-force winds related to the northeast monsoon” as causes behind the suspension.
The PCG famous that the present climate situations are “anticipated to have an effect on the northern and japanese coast of the Polillo Islands, the northern coast of Panukulan, the northeastern coast of Burdeos, the northern Patnanungan coast, and the northern and japanese coast of Jomalig.”
Which means all journeys of vessels with 250 gross tons and beneath plying the route throughout the mentioned areas of northern Quezon are suspended.
Polillo Island, going through the Pacific Ocean within the northern a part of Quezon, hosts Polillo, Burdeos, and Panukulan cities.

Jomalig, the smallest and farthest island city, is within the southeastern a part of the Polillo island group, together with Patnanungan island municipality.
The suspension order could be lifted, and sea journey for small vessels could also be resumed when the climate or sea situations allow, as could also be declared by Pagasa, the PCG mentioned.
