BACOLOD CITY — The physique of a slain man, who was allegedly a New Folks’s Military (NPA) insurgent, was claimed by his household whereas his six different companions have been buried in Candoni city, Negros Occidental on Friday, Nov. 22.
The stays of Jonel Saroa Anicito, 29, have been claimed by his brother-in-law, in line with Lt. Col. J-jay Javines, third Infantry Division spokesperson.
“The household of Anicito thought he was in Manila working as he had been gone for a number of months,” Javines stated.
The Military’s forty seventh Infantry Battalion (IB), in coordination with the Candoni native authorities, police, and Municipal Catastrophe Danger Discount and Administration Workplace, buried the six different slain rebels in a public cemetery in Barangay Poblacion West, Candoni on Friday.

Anicito and these six unclaimed our bodies have been killed in an encounter with troopers of the Military’s forty seventh and fifteenth IBs in Sitio Cogon, Barangay Gatuslao, Candoni, Negros Occidental, on Thursday, Nov. 21.
Recovered from the encounter website have been 5 M-16 assault rifles, two AK 47 automated rifles, a M653 assault rifle, grenade, and an improvised explosive gadget.
Lt. Col. Magno M. Mapalad III, forty seventh Infantry Battalion commander, reiterated the federal government’s name for peace.
“We urge the remaining communist terrorist group members to give up and return to their households. The federal government is able to assist those that search to reintegrate into society and pursue a peaceable life. It isn’t too late to decide on a greater path,” he stated.
