Nairobi — Bethwell Biwott Yegon led a clear podium sweep within the males’s race on the Buenos Aires Marathon on Sunday, during which Kenyans grabbed the highest 5 locations.
Yegon clocked 2:09:04 in first place, forward of fellow countrymen Isaac Kipkemboi (2:09:18) and Eliasa Kibet (2:11:39) in second and third respectively.
Two different Kenyans, Robert Ngeno (2:12:27) and Hillary Kering (2:12:51) completed fourth and fifth respectively within the tightly-contested race.
The race was the primary of the 12 months for Yegon who final competed in December 9 final 12 months, ending a disappointing ninth on the Fukuoka Worldwide Marathon in Japan.
Within the girls’s race, Rhodah Jepkorir Tanui and Caroline Jepchirchir completed second and third, behind winner Yenenesh Tilakun Dinkesa of Ethiopia.
Dinkesa clocked 2:27:15 to say prime honour as Tanui and Jepchirchir timed 2:28:58 and a couple of:30:26 respectively.
Different large winners
On the Montreal Marathon in Canada, Philemon Kiptanui stormed throughout the end line in first after clocking 2:15:09 within the males’s race.
Moroccan Hadout Moussab was second in 2:16:49 as Belgian John Langat took the remaining podium place in 2:18:53.
In the meantime, on the tRUNsylvania 10km race in Romania, Loice Chemnung completed first within the girls’s competitors as Kenya swept all of the podium locations.
Chemnung clocked 30:13, forward of fellow Kenyans, Janeth Chepngetich (30:19) and Judy Kemboi (30:29).
The lads’s race was gained by Duncan Kinyanjui who clocked 27:08 as Moroccan Hicham Amghar got here second in 27:09.
One other Kenyan, Weldon Langat, completed third in 27:09, in what was a photograph end among the many three runners.
